LOCATION & TIMES

LOCATION

Our End of Year Concert will be held at:

St John's Anglican College Performing Arts Centre

College Avenue, Forest Lake

DATE & TIME

Our End of Year Concert will be held on Saturday 6 December at 10am.

See the Concert Day Procedures below for arrival times.

ATTENDANCE & PARTICIPATION

All students participate in our End of Year Concert and students work on these routines each week in class, developing their skills in the process and learning the importance of rehearsal, commitment, performance techniques and teamwork.

In terms of attendance, it is very important that students do not miss any of their scheduled classes between now and concert time so they can spend their rehearsal time together to perform their routines, feel confident and look amazing. Of course, this is only if it can’t be helped and in line with studio guidelines. If for any reason your child will miss a number of their regular classes in Term 4, we ask that you contact reception to let us know in advance.

If there is any reason why your child will not be able to perform at the concert on the dates and times provided, please let us know so we can make amendments to the class routines involving them.

CONCERT TSHIRT & MEMORABILIA

CONCERT TSHIRT

All students receive a concert commemorative t-shirt included as part of their inclusive concert package. All students have been sized for their shirts so you don't need to worry about a thing! Students will be handed their concert t-shirt at our Studio Rehearsal on Saturday 29 November.

CONCERT MEMORABILIA

VIDEOS

We engage the services of a Professional Videographer. All parents will receive a digital download of their dancers show included as a part of your inclusive concert package. All parents will be emailed with a unique log in which will enable you to view and download the concert videos at home once available. If you have recently changed emails, please drop us an email at admin@adrenalinepa.com.au to ensure we have an up to date email address for you and you don’t miss out. Concert videos will be emailed out as soon as we receive them. We recommend downloading them straight away and keeping them in a safe place as they aren't available forever.

ON STAGE PHOTOS

We engage the services of a Professional Photographer who will be taking on stage photos of all shows. Please be aware that they are “live on stage” images and there is no way to guarantee that photos will be taken of each individual child. All digital images will be available to purchase after our concert. Please view our Concert Photo Order Guide for instructions on how to order here. We will also distribute links after the show.

REHEARSAL DAY

SATURDAY 29 NOVEMBER

9.00 - 11.00AM

APA STUDIOS

At Adrenaline Performing Arts we understand that the end of year is a busy time for families and as such we will be holding a rehearsal day at the studio one week prior to our show.

Students need to do the following for rehearsal day:

- Arrive at 10 mins prior to call time

- Wear normal dance uniform and bring all required shoes

- NO hair or makeup is required

- Students will receive their Commemorative Concert T shirts at this rehearsal

Students involved in Ready Set Party are not required for our stage rehearsal on Friday 5 December (this is only for students involved in Illuminate concert)

CONCERT DAY PROCEDURES

DROP OFF & PICK UP

On concert day, all of the students will be staying backstage with us for the duration of the concert. Students need to have their hair and makeup done and stockings on before being dropped off. Students are required to arrive 45mins before their show time.

During the dropping off times, we ask that one parent/guardian comes with their child into the drop off area (stage door) and say goodbyes before they are directed to our dressing rooms by our helpers. Students will be given an allocated colour group and directed to their group and helpers.

At the end of the show, students will be directed to our foyer (not stage door) where they need to be picked up from one of our staff members. We want to make sure all students get to enjoy the celebrations of their show so please be patient whilst we ensure the safe pick up of all students. Students will stay in this location and need to have their name marked off by their group leader.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask us. We will ensure that we talk you through the concert day procedure again in the weeks leading up to the concert.

SECURITY & STUDENT SAFETY

To help with student organisation and safety, all students will be put into an allocated 'colour group’. Our amazing helpers will be wearing different coloured shirts to help your child know who their helpers are.

As always, the safety of our dance family is our #1 priority. On concert day all students will need to be signed in / out. Only Adrenaline staff and registered helpers are permitted backstage. We are unable to run messages or food to students, so please make sure they have everything before they come backstage for the concert. We do this to protect the students, please respect this policy. Please try not to bring anything valuable, especially electronic devices. Mobile phones are not to be taken backstage or in the changing areas during the concert. Our studio will take no responsibility if an item is damaged, misplaced, lost or stolen.

MEDICAL CONDITIONS

If your child has any Medical Conditions that may require attention whilst in our care or are carrying any medication with them, please notify our supervisors when you sign in.

THEATRE RULES

Please don't move around the theatre during the performance. If you need to leave the theatre, please do so during a suitable break in the show. ABSOLUTELY NO photography or videos are to be taken during the show! We have professional photographers and videographers capturing all the fabulous moments. Offenders will be asked to leave the theatre immediately. NO performers should be in the auditorium in costume. Please do not be late.

UNDERWEAR

Please be aware that under stage lights, dark coloured or patterned underwear does not look good under light coloured costumes. Please make sure your child is wearing flesh/light coloured underwear.

HAIR

Dancers will require a NEAT centre part middle height ponytail.

You will need to use a lot of hairspray/gel and a fine tooth comb to achieve the slick look and possibly multiple elastics. Please also use an elastic the same colour as their hair. Ponytail is to be as straight as possible (except for Ready Set Dancers natural hair is okay).

Please note, for boys neat and tidy hair is all that is required. No colours or crazy hairstyles please.

MAKEUP

For our younger students, we want them to still look natural and not "made up". The best way to do this is to use natural colours to enhance their features. If you don't wish to put makeup on your little one that is okay with us!

Start with a light moisturiser to help prepare their skin.

Apply a soft mineral foundation with a buffing brush for their base to even their complexion. Stage lighting is very harsh so a light layer of coverage will help them not look washed out.

Apply light natural brown colours on the eyes. You can even use a sweep of bronzer in their crease.

Apply a small amount of mascara.

Apply a natural pink blush on the cheeks to bring back some colour to the face.

Finish with a soft pink lipstick for our students age 2 - 5 and a red lipstick for our students aged 6 & up.

For our Junior Technique students (Primary ballet, foundation tap, pre-modern jazz & 6/unders) stage makeup needs to be heavier than normal day makeup. Please try not to cake it on or make it look like a mask as this does not look natural on stage.

Please note, boys are not required to wear makeup.

JEWELLERY AND NAIL POLISH

No Jewellery is to be worn (including earrings), please leave all jewellery at home. Also, please remove all nail polish.

WHAT TO BRING

FOOD & DRINK

Seeing this show is very short, we advise that you don't pack food for your child. If absolutely necessary please pack only small snacks (nothing messy and absolutely no nuts). Please bring a labelled water bottle.

PACKING CHECKLIST

It is suggested that students bring all of their belongings in a small bag. Please make sure everything they bring has their name on it (including the bag), every year we have so many pairs of dance shoes and uniforms lost that are never claimed. Please only pack what is necessary.

Please use the following checklist:

- Arrive wearing first costume with concert t-shirt over the top (see concert order for your child's first routine)

- All other costumes in labelled bag (if in multiple routines)

- Stockings and dance underwear (wear on arrival)

- Shoes for performance (all must be named)

- Makeup for touch-ups (not necessary to pack for our RSD, RSB & RSA students)

- Extra bobby pins, safety pins, hair spray, elastics

- Water, water and more water (please name water bottles)

- Students may want to bring a small quiet game, book or something to keep them amused. We will also have activities for the children.

**PLEASE VIEW FINAL PHOTO DAY SCHEDULE HERE**

WHAT TO BRING & WEAR

Hair & Makeup

All students should wear their hair in a centre part middle height ponytail for this day - we won't be doing hair changes for different photos.

Light make up for our younger students if you wish.

Students aged 6 & up, please wear your stage makeup.

Costumes & What to Bring

If you have collected your costumes prior to Photo Day please bring them along.

If you have yet to collect costumes we will distribute them to you and are yours to take home (only if paid in full by Sunday 16 November)

Please arrive in your own loose clothing.

Please bring your required shoes and wear your stockings to the studio.

Please ensure all belongings are named clearly (especially shoes & stockings).

DROP OFF & LOGISTICS

Photos will take place in studio 2, students will get dressed in studio 1.

Students are to arrive at studio 1 at their photo arrival time (refer to schedule below) and our teachers will assist them to get ready for their photos.

We ask that parents please wait outside of the studio rooms, preferably upstairs in our waiting room or in the carpark for your child to be finished.

As you can understand we have a very large number of students attending this day we need to keep our dressing room space clear for them.

Ready Set Dance, Ballet & Acro students - Due to the larger number of RSD students we have, we will allow only 1 RSD parent per family to come in and assist your child to get dressed for their photo. If you have already collected your costume you are welcome to bring your child already dressed.

We ask that once they are dressed please meet our team where they will supervise your child for the photo and head promptly upstairs to wait until they have finished.

Once your child has finished their photo please meet them in the foyer for pick up.

Please check they have all their belongings.

Reception will be unattended this day as all our team will be assisting with Photo Day.
